The Atacama region of northern Chile is a vast area, home to one of the driest deserts on the planet. It is from its extensive altiplano known as the Puna de Atacama, that more than 30 mountains rise to over 6,000 metres. Within this arid zone is the highest concentration of high peaks in all of the Andes: six of its 10 highest mountains lie in the Puna de Atacama; although it remains one of the few remote and unexplored areas of the Andes. Mount Pissis 6,882m) and the "Ojos del Salado" Volcano (6,864m) are its two highest peaks, but surprisingly recieve few visitors each year. I am offering you my experience in this area to come and discover this region of overwhelming beauty. For each of these expeditions I have put together a 15 day programme, which based on past experience I would recommend in order to acclimatise and ensure a successful climb to the summit. However, these programmes are flexible and can of course be adapted to suit you, the conditions and of course, your objectives from your trip. If you are interested please contact me and we can arrange a programme to fit your specifications. If you have been searching for high mountains far from the great alpine centers of the world, then this is your place. See these expeditions in greater detail here:
